Care CV CV writing tips

Someone was referred to me wanting a CV rewrite for a Care job role application.

He asked me ‘But I don’t have experience and skills on the job what would I do?’

I took time to look through his CV and told him we are going to use transferable skills.

This is not the first time I am having such complaints or fixing the issue successfully.

Many don’t realize that they have skills that can be adapted to a job role in an unrelated field.

Let’s say I’m being asked for a healthcare experience with kids which I don’t have but I have managed kids before being a pupils tutor and that I know myself to be a fast leaner. This can be adapted to what is sought.

I would just emphasize my previous experience with kids being patient, having listening ears and kind to foster their learning and development which basically much among others what is expected in a care role for kids. I stress further that I am a fast learner where with related experience I can easily adapt to the new job.

One wants to check for the job description and highlight for transferable skills with your CV and adapt accordingly.

You need to look into your history and see where you have applied the skills being asked of.

Although some role and skills are more technical and require actual specialty experience.

Another way one can go about this and for this type of role is to actually check the required experiences and skills for a job and work towards acquiring them.

You can give the role some time but not too long, and take up multiple volunteer roles. You can even volunteer in the organizations or related organizations you seek to work.

One can also enroll for free online courses and short term certificate courses/training as related to the discipline and sought attributes of job to be applied for. This is how to go about it.
